A cookie is a small file a site stores in your browser. Our default on the public site is essential cookies only — analytics are off until you opt in.
What cookies are for
They let a site remember small things between page loads — like whether you’ve dismissed the cookie notice, or kept you signed in. We also use “local storage”, which works similarly.
Essential cookies
- Session & security — keep you signed in and protect against fraud.
- Preferences — remember choices like the cookie notice and reduced-motion setting.
These are always on because the service can’t function without them; they don’t require consent under PECR.
Analytics (opt-in)
If you choose “Accept all” on the cookie banner, we set first-party, privacy-respecting analytics so we can see which pages help and which don’t. We never use third-party advertising cookies, and analytics are never set inside the kid app.
What we don’t do
No advertising cookies. No cross-site tracking pixels. No selling of any data. The kid app sets nothing beyond what’s needed to run a lesson.
